We arrived in Frankfurt at 07:00 after an 11-hour journey. Later we had a lot of free time, we visited the Market Square and had some coffee in a cafe. On Monday we went to school to meet the participants. At the beginning, after the welcome, we started the integration. Later we listened to and gave presentations about our country, city and school. The lunch break was followed by the presentations on national and ethnic minorities of the member countries. Then we went for a walk around the city together with our German friends. We ended the day with dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Our third day in Frankfurt began with meeting the students of Hans Böckler School and we participated in their classes. Then we went to the school canteen for a school lunch. In the afternoon we went to the city center. We visited the Frankfurt City Hall where we had a meeting and a discussion with the chairwoman of the City Council. Later, we went to our hotel to freshen up, after that, our German friends picked us up at 6 p.m. to go for a dinner that was prepared by themselves.
Erasmus Plus Diary Notes Wednesday, March 1, 2023 The third day of our mobility is over. Right after we woke up, we went down for breakfast. At 8:45 a bus was waiting for us, which took us to the picturesque town of Heidelberg. The guide was waiting for us there. First, we visited the town, and then the Heidelberg Castle. From there we could admire the breathtaking views. They were like landscapes painted by an outstanding artist. Later we had dinner and got traditional German pretzels as a gift from our German friend Wiktoria. Then we went to the town of Michelstadt. It is a beautiful historic town. After sightseeing, we took part in the meeting of Rat der Religionen im Odenwald (representatives of the religious communities in Odenwald). There we had the opportunity to sing a song together and some refreshments were waiting for us. After the meeting, we returned to our hotel by bus, where after a whole day of impressions we went to rest. I can't wait for tomorrow
The fourth day of our stay in Germany began with a beautiful sunny morning. Immediately after breakfast we went for a walk along the river which led to the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt. We had the opportunity to learn a little about the history and daily life of the Jews who lived here. Then, after eating lunch, our next stop was the DialogMuseum where we could put ourselves in the place of a blind person and find ourselves in situations from everyday life such as crossing a busy street, traveling by tram, all in total darkness. This was a new and interesting experience for us. We also saw Frankfurt from the 200-metre height from the Main Tower skyscraper. This phenomenal view delighted us all. We ended the day with a final dinner in a traditional German restaurant with live music. Together with others we sang and danced to the rhythm of rock and roll.
We started our last day in Frankfurt as usual with breakfast and then checking out of our rooms. The end of our Erasmus adventure was a trip to Escape Room. After an exciting collaboration, each group safely left the room and we went to the Market Square where we said our final goodbyes to our hosts. We had some free time to walk around the downtown of Frankfurt one last time and buy the last souvenirs. In the evening we went to a nearby restaurant for a traditional German schnitzel for one last meal. We returned to the hotel to collect our baggage, said goodbye to the group of students from Iceland and before we knew it we were sitting on the bus, really exhausted after a full week of excitement. We will certainly remember our experiences during the trip to Frankfurt am Main organized by the Erasmus+ project with great sentiment. We spent most of our time together with Icelandic, German and Turkish students. It was an excellent way to get acquainted with the new surroundings and customs of different countries. Thanks to the integration, we met a lot of wonderful people and learned a lot of new things that may be useful for us in the future. It was also an opportunity to exchange experiences with other project participants and a chance to spend free time with them. It is worth mentioning that during the trip we also visited many beautiful sights and learned about the culture and religion of each of the member countries. We were very impressed by how welcomed we were and how much we had in common with other countries. We also hope that the other participants will remember us positively and we will have the opportunity to see them again in the near future.
